The Ultralight Articulating Night Vision Binocular – Katana Ruggedized (UANVB-R) “Katana Ruggedized” is a articulating binocular housing made of high strength aerospace grade 7075-T6 aluminum. Using advanced multi-axis CNC machining an ultra lightweight and robust design is achieved, including an optimal single piece pod geometry. The articulating design allows for individual pod shut off, enabling the user to use one or both eyes while utilizing weapon mounted, non-passive aiming systems. End users will be able to mount and dismount vehicles easier with the low profile of the UANVB when stowed. It is simple with a minimalist design. An onboard battery with optional remote power (LEMO) to keep things simple and streamline. Push button on/off in the cap to reduce weight and reduce the footprint of the bridge. Individual pod power on/off when articulated to the side for single or dual eye use and to eliminate backsplash when stowed or rotated out.
